Amy graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio before making her way over to NY state. She wears many hats at the office – she’s our receptionist, scheduler, treatment coordinator, and financial coordinator – so she’s here to help you through absolutely every step of your treatment. She loves that she gets to know all of the patients really well and how she can help people on a really personal level. When asked what makes the practice unique, she answered, “Dr. Cox and his team truly care 100% about the health and well-being of their patients. They are here to advise and help, not dictate treatment. We are a small team that works great together and can offer the patients the specialized care and time that a large, factory-like practice can not.“ Amy loves the friendly (and fun!) team environment that makes it easy to get up and come to work every day.
A big part of Amy’s job is making sure the patients are fully aware of the fees related to services and exactly what their insurances will or won’t cover before they even walk in the door. That way, there are no surprises and patients can come into the office relaxed and ready to maintain their healthy smile. Outside of work, she and her husband are raising two beautiful daughters and one very spoiled chocolate lab. She also speaks Japanese!
Tara graduated with honors from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She has experience in many facets of dentistry for both adults and children including a vast knowledge of periodontal care and implant dentistry. She takes a personal approach with each patient and promotes the importance of good dental and periodontal health as it relates to overall medical health. You will always be greeted with a friendly smile and will find Tara to be gentle and caring.
Lisa graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Hackensack, NJ as well as Orange County Community College in Middletown, NY. Having been in the dental industry for over 30 years, Lisa loves keeping up on the technologies and advancements in her job as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She loves working with patients as well as with a team where everyone feels valued. She also loves that this practice takes their time with patients, giving them enough time to be treated properly and answer any questions they may have without ever feeling rushed. Outside of the office, Lisa and her husband love to ski and spend time with family and friends, and puppies!
Thalia enjoys being a Dental Assistant so much that she’s pursuing her degree to be a dental hygienist. She’s worked here with us at Scarsdale Smiles since since 2011, and is now the dental assistant. She loves both the size of our practice—small and intimate—and the priority we give patient contentment and comfort. She says, “I love that we make sure the patients are happy and get the best service.”
