Invisalign uses a series of strong, thin, clear aligners to gently move your teeth into the proper position.. Each set of aligners is meant to be worn for 1 to 2 weeks. Over time, each set of aligners will move your teeth slightly. When worn according to our instructions, most patients can achieve their smile goals with Invisalign within a year’s time.
The Invisalign process begins with an orthodontic consultation at Scarsdale Smiles. If you are a candidate for Invisalign Dr. Cox will take photos and impressions of your mouth. Then, he will work closely with his Invisalign lab to develop your customized treatment plan. Within a few weeks, your custom plan will be created and you can start with your first set of aligners. You’ll begin wearing them for about 20-22 hours per day. About every 4 to 6 weeks, you will come in so Dr. Cox can evaluate the progress of your treatment and provide you with your next several sets of aligners. The duration of treatment is based on the severity of the case and overall oral health, but most patients finish in under a year.
The main difference between Invisalign and ClearCorrect are the materials used to create your aligners. For the most part, though, these treatments use the same basic method to gently shift your teeth into the correct position. Both treatments use clear plastic aligners as an alternative to braces to straighten your teeth.
